Crying by Madison Violet
Shot as part of Rockpalast's show in Bonn, Germany.

March, 2010

The video is a part footage from WDR's camera team and footage filmed by myself.

On Location:
Here you can see what I got up to whilst visiting my good friends Amalie and Paul in Saskatoon, Canada recently... Director and Film maker Amalie Atkins was in the middle of shooting one of her films, and I got to see first hand the joys and frustrations of what it takes. See a snipet of the action filmed on my little digi cam by Lake Waskesui, Saskatchewan in October 2006.
The soundtrack is 'Human Thing' which is the opening track from The Be Good Tanyas latest album 'Hello Love'

7 more films to explore your senses: "A trip to market" is the one of the few with a soundtrack (Nicole Nordeman's "Wide Eyed"). All the others are for your eyes to focus on...

In Conversation: This was second ever film I'd made. I was starting my second year of my MA and It was one of those moments where I had an assignment to complete, as well as meeting a friend for coffee... so why not combine the two?!

Let's do lunch: The serendipidous meeting for coffee ignited a creative spark... and I was suddenly enveloped in how people conduct themselves whilst engaged in conversation - be it a spoon or a cup - the hands do so much! So it was time for lunch...

Just dessert: It's difficult to resist such delicious dessert when confronted, and even the amusement of my friend battling with a single strawberry is captivating in it's own right!

Fancy a pint?: Down to my local - to take in it's atmosphere and, well, local conversation. 3 points if you can figure out what is being described by sign-language!

Note: There are some audio snippets in this one!

Minger: Time for something healthier... this girl really does have to keep her hands busy when she's talking!

A trip to market: This piece was filmed on the original Norwich Market back in February 2004. This short film was never shown as part of my MA - but is one of the pieces I most enjoyed creating. How ironic that a market shed should play such a prominant part in the future of my art making!

Song of Songs: This was the first short film I ever made for an interactive prayer labrynth around the theme of Sexuality - from Solomon's perspective! I knew nothing about film - or editing for that matter (some of the edits are quite crude!), but it was a start..
